Actually spat out my coffee at this line and laughed so hard.
Queen Joan for everything. And Jonathan Igla deserves an emmy for writing that line.

Why’d you have to make me so blue?
Why’d you have to make me so blue?
I’m so tired of you
Why’d you have to make me so blue?
Shopping carts full of clothes
Why’d you have to make me so blue?
Paid my bills and captured my soul
Why’d you have to make me so blue?
Showed you round to all of my friends
Why’d you have to make me so blue?
Tried to do whatever you said
Why’d you have to make me so blue?
Cooked your dinner day and night
Why’d you have to make me so blue?
Calmed your fears when you had a fright
Why’d you have to make me so blue?
Why’d you have to make me so blue?

“Obviously, I’m gonna have to take the Swanson Pyramid of Greatness. This is my husband. I am his legal property. I am bound by law to gather up any artifacts pertaining to my lord and master.”

National Poetry Writing Month Day #3
Prompt: epithalamium
clink, clink, clink, clink
gold band twist and turns beneath the bubbles
drowning, choking
liquids jealous fireworks display
There’s a white dress but not a wedding one
A sunny day, no pollen, no humidity
No shoes, wildflowers, no veil
Too late to hide now
Who really knows anyone anyway
An anonymous groom, my favorite song, quick sentiment
Off to food and dancing
The end, not quite
Whose in my bed
I slept here last night, it wasn’t this crowded
Whose in my life?, you weren’t invited
Logistical nightmare, I know check-in?
I don’t even know you, but where have you been?
This is a one-person show, monologue about me
Not a duet or discussion, the spotlights for me
Top billin’ dude you gotta be kiddin’
Talkin’ about my money, you must be trippin’
Really right now, I’m trying to sleep
People get paid for these tasks you know
Why the hell should I do them for free
Who even are you, you’re saying a lot of things
You gave this jewelry, so that makes you king
If I give you a chain could you reverse this for me?

I wish I had a trouble where my anticipation for season three would cause me to move time forward so I could see the season 3 premiere of Haven.

National Poetry Writing Month Day 2
Prompt: The song that was #1 on the first day you were born.
Yellow
No one around me can breathe
Even when every thing is pretty and chirpy and bright
They sound as if death awaits
I take chipper to that place
There’s no dancing and singing
They guide me in the direction I should go
They tell me to put it in neutral
Now I have no control
Like I ever did, hah, an illusion
Hands off the wheel
Let us guide you along
It doesn’t matter
I don’t know where I’m going anyway
Maybe I’ll emerge on the other side
In a foreign land with coconut and sand
And snowy mountains and rolling hills
Villas with cities and mud huts
With people who look like me that I don’t understand
It seems like there should be more on the other side
Small confined space, overtaken with water
But I don’t get clean where I need it
They push on, the thunder comes
Will I lose my signal?
Now the winds surround me
Maybe they can secure me in the right direction
I emerge into the bright, but its not new, I’m not new
I’m only feet from where I started
Without yellow

National Poetry Writing Month Day 1
Prompt: carpe diem
Fish of the Day
Catch of the Week
Carpe, seize the day
Beats hunting
I know I flow with the waters
I know I’m taken by the current
The undertow
Going under feels fine
Safe in fact
I bind my heels to the plankton
The imaginary anchor embraces me
I feel lifted
I’m also angry, tired
I fall asleep nestled in the coral
I take naps where I can breathe
Could the ocean floor be so clean?
Fall-in’, fall-in’ white and blue sparkly disks
Reflections of past love and light
I might eat an apple
I might just take one bite

The only thing I’ll be waving is your decapitated head on a stick in front of your weeping mother!
